I saw lair of the white worm and thought “i wish this whole thing was the hallucination sequences” and finally seeing The Devils this is that plus so much more. ken made one of the greatest movies of all time. I saw that even though it’s on criterion now they still don’t have the cut featuring the “rape of christ” sequence among other bits and pieces so found a version on internet archive that splices those in. Blown away. Religious hysteria and sexual fervor and blasphemy at 200%. Will be revisiting over and over. “it’s not every day you see daddy burn to death”
