Revision so time to write a review  Than film is a compelling masterpiece on multiple levels. Norman is obviously the star of the show. You can look at his character from the psychological perspective of multiple personalities, or through the gender roles perspective. A few things I noticed in this watch through was that the birds in the parlor scene are definitely an objectification of Norman. He is brutal like the owl that hangs above him, he is also stuffed by something (His mind is stuffed by his mother), and he talks about clawing and scratching himself out of a cage. He also mentioned that his mother was as harmless as a stuffed bird which interestingly enough if you remove the stuffing and give it life then you’ve got a predator.
