The Batman
The Batman is a generational masterpiece
Matt Reeves’ The Batman manages to capture the essence and vibe of Gotham City perfectly, which Christopher Nolan unfortunately failed to do.
This movie is incredibly well made. Every aspect is just perfection — the cinematography, choreography, costume design and set design are all absolutely stunning! Every frame truly feels like a piece of art coming to life. The eerie crime/thriller plot is interesting and keeps you on the edge throughout the whole movie. I get massive Se7en energy from this but it still feels like its own thing.
Robert Pattinson really nails down the portrayal of both Bruce Wayne and Batman, and his chemistry with Zoë Kravitz’ Catwoman feels natural and authentic. The whole cast of The Batman does their job so well and makes the world feel real.
The Batman is so visually pleasing, the red/orange tint symbolizing vengeance, anger and hatred is so good. I hope they keep using colors to symbolize Batman and Bruce’s journey.
Rewatching this also made me realize what a masterpiece The Penguin series is, how connected it is and expands the lore in such an incredible way!
The Batman is a generational masterpiece.
