This movie is GREAT I knew it was going to be good, and I've always had faith in Taron's acting but this film........oh my god. It's not just a biopic, this film comes to life. It's so emotionally raw, real and never strays away from the messy parts of Elton's life like biopics usually do. It shows Elton and all parts of him: positive & negative, likable & unlikable, angry & euphoric, painful & hopeful. This is the first biopic I have watched in a while that has truly shown the subject of the film as a multidimensional human being. The acting is great, but Taron Egerton is in a league all his own. He goes above and beyond for this role. He pours every bit of emotion into it and becomes Elton not long after he is first shown on screen. The musical numbers are amazing and truly do justice to the wonderful discography of Elton John. Taron has incredible vocal range and this shows here more than ever before. There is also an incredibly important message about self love that is shown towards the end of the film, and one single line from a very young Elton had me in tears!! This film is incredible and so is Egerton's work, as well as the story, the music & the directing by Dexter Fletcher. I believe Taron has done more than enough to bring home oscar gold next award season. I hope everyone loves this film as much as I do, because it might just be my favorite of the year so far!
