Trainspotting
"Choose life" works as an ironic criticism of the values of capitalism: consumption, job stability and the normalisation of a prefabricated life. Renton rejects these ideals, but not in a conscious way, but from the use of the drug as form of evasion.
Trainspotting is a provocative and powerful film that explores juvenile alienation, addiction and the search for identity. This will forever be one of my favourites movies.
