One Day

OOOF…….:( How did the movie get a 0.5 star from me, but this got 5 stars? Damn, what a switch up. This show simply holds such emotionally complex human characters that I really did get lost in. We travel through 14 strong years and a little afterwards of the trails and tribulations of their life and…that is not something easy to organize into a TV format, but this does it with so much grace. I think what I really love about this series is growth. Both Em and Dex have their own flaws, some worse than others (cough cough, Dex is kindve a douche), but we see them get to their 30s where all those mistakes made them who they are. This is such an unique romance story too because, we have Dex, who treats Emma like shit for a loooooong time. The man was an emotionally immature twat with some pretty severe narcissistic traits and naturally, Em was this sweet innocent girl who really let herself be played like a fool. The series show Em as she hardens herself and while Dex softens himself until a beautiful harmonious balance leads them back together. Love here is never perfect. In fact, it’s messy and annoying as fuck and showcases that in order to get what your after, you’re going to have to deal with a lot of shit. But, it’s interesting to see how well this show allows to display their characters emotions and let that define the undefinable. Absolutely gorgeous stuff.
