Telemarketers
What a fantastic expose. Now, this does allow itself to explain how telemarketing works, but it rather wants to be a specific look into how the Fraternal Order of Police got in dirty with these telemarketing companies, where they took a small cut (in the grand scheme of things), while the management siphoned hundreds of millions of dollars from poor schmucks. I love how this documentary is filmed, for the most part, under an unprofessional setting. One of the directors comes from work experience at this place and gets a bizarre but loveable former Heroin addict who worked there to assist in uncovering the company’s scam. I watched all three hours in one sitting. I just couldn’t stop watching. It’s 3 am now and I desperately need to fall asleep. This is a math watch series. Yes, it does show this criminal underbelly of people easily getting rich using ex-convicts and unhireable people, but the worst part is showcasing the massive corruption from the police force and the lack of effort in congress to prevent this from happening. Beautiful! They should be honoured to be part of a passion project of the like. If they wanted to be freelance journalists again about something else they are interested in, I’d be more than happy to indulge. Also Safdie prouced? Holla!
