Twin Peaks: The Return
I HAD ANOTHER MONICA BELLUCCI DREAM!!
Twin Peaks the Return is, at the least, the greatest thing David Lynch has ever made, and at most, it is one of greatest things put on screen. I have so much I want to say and gush about.
Every actor was amazing; Kyle MacLachlan does so well portraying three different characters and making them distinctly different from one another, the costume designers deserve props for that as well. Other than Kyle MacLachlan, it's hard to pick just one great performance. Everyone did amazing, even Jim Belushi. David Lynch had such a fantastic talent to bring out the best out of his actors.
I just love how The Return continues with the theme of Good vs Evil Twin Peaks always had (in my opinion). It also reminds us how much of a powerful force of love and positivity Dale Cooper is. Even when he's dumb ass rocks Dougie Jones, he's able to bring love to such an evil place like Las Vegas.
I wish I could say I had some cool new interpretation or an interesting opinion to bring to the conversation, but not really. I feel like nobody brings up Andy being chosen by the Fireman. I believe it's because he's pure of heart and was the first to try to comfort the woman in the woods. I just love Andy, Top Five best characters of the show.
Episode 8 is the one everyone points to as probably the best of The Return, and I agree, but my favorite was 15 because those first 10 min just warmed my heart. It was such a payoff, it's almost cartoonish how almost everything had a payoff. It just works man!
If there's ANY negatives or gripes, it's that sometimes it looks pretty cheap. That doesn't really bother me though, but I can see how it could put some people off.
David Lynch was a master, and I'll miss him.
