Lost Highway

“You were in the house, calling my name, but I couldn't find you. Then there you were, lying in bed... but it wasn't you. It looked like you, but it wasn't.”———————————————————————————This movie is special. A special piece of cinema created for our viewing.
Instantly became a favorite of mine already. The plot is so intriguing, so very intriguing. It just grabs you from the start and poses so many questions, it also strays away from you when you obviously don’t understand things, and that’s done on purpose, and it’s fine.
This film feels like a lost highway. Like your somewhere where you don’t understand how you got there, just endless driving on a highway, too dark too see but the glow of your headlights illuminate your way through the darkness.
We start off the journey with a couple getting stalked or something closely related to stalking. We don’t know by who or how. We figure some stuff out about who, kinda? But nothing is ever really answered.
It goes from that kinda simple plot and just twists it over and over again. Some things aren’t meant to be understood, some things are meant to be answered by the audience. Some things only David Lynch’s mind can comprehend.
This film feels like a messy piece of art, that is somehow in some way beautiful. In my eyes this film is dark, but beautiful.
To conclude this messy review, I really loved this film and I really enjoyed it. There’s not much to hate, I loved everything about the film, the way it made me feel. It made me feel uncomfortable but in a way that I was so very intrigued. Instantly became one of my favs. ——————————————————————————————This film was recommended to me by my new list called Moot recommendations.
Plz go give me some recs and I will try to get to every single one on there.
