The Kingdom II
One of the more conflicting seasons of tv for me. I loved a lot of it but I also found it very bloated. I’m debating whether to give this a 4.5 or a 5. But at the same time I wanna go lower because it could have been a lot better but really for what it is, perfect. I loved the ideas and themes of the “little brother” plot line and k felt empathy but I could barely even look at my screen when be would show up, super gross man. I really loved the Drusses plot line that started at the beginning once she (yk what) and the painting of the tiger, birds, and snakes were super interesting. Even though it explained what each symbolized I’m still kinda confused on where it ties into the shows meaning. The dishwashers were great as usual, their dialogue is so peak and surprisingly great acting, sorry. I love how they kinda tell the story of what’s going on but so coded and so much foreshadowing, every time they appeared it was like an avengers team up. Helmers plots were somewhat interesting, but super dragged out, the Mona plot was super underused and only became super important near the end, if it was used in a better way I think it could have been one of the better plot lines of the show. I also really loved what was happening between the little triangle of betrayal and blackmailing, as Krogshøj was using mogge to gain Information on helmer and helmer was going opposite for mogge, and how the head really lingered over mogge especially after it was gone since krogshoj made some smart moves. The Mona document was super important for this season and actually was played into the themes super well, loved everything there and it played for lots of comedy. Surprisingly super funny moments this season, way more than 1. The director of health (sorry forgot name) was an amazing character and I lowkey loved the liver plot. I also really enjoyed the director of the hospital investigations throughout, the funniest moment from the season was when age Kruger was walking through the halls with the devil horns and bro pushed him up against the wall to hide it. I find it so funny how he didn’t even bat an eye after seeing a literal demon walk through the halls of riget hospital lol. Peak moments, loved the Mary backstory at the beginning of the season. Truly a spectacular season imo, lots to love. This season got way better once I was done and thought about everything that happened, it just instantly got better with time.
