There Will Be Blood
Modern Masterpiece. I can’t decide whether to give this film a 4.5 or a 5. Probably the hardest decision I have had while rating films. It’s was just so good and the acting was phenomenal but all the good aspects of the film came closer to the end. I don’t mind that though because I usually like slow burns but this one is hard for me. All I know is that this film is absolutely amazing and I love it. Probably the best acting performances I’ve seen in film. DDL was fantastic as well as Paul Dano. I will definitely need to rewatch this film to get the best rating I can give it, it will most likely go up on rewatch. Wow I can’t stop thinking about the performances. People say it so often but I didn’t come into this film with the highest of expectations and let me say it definitely exceeded the expectations I set for it. Don’t get me started on the cinematography. Cinematography is one of the most important parts of a film to me and this film gives your eyes so much to look at and it is just beautiful. The dialogue in this film as well is exceptional. The way the dialogue is delivered makes it even better. At the beginning of this review I had this film at a 4.5 but now that I’ve talked about it so much it goes to a 5. The writing is another aspect of the film that I loved. I just felt as if everything made sense and the writers just went all out and that really made this film. Another thing this film does good is make you feel bad. I felt bad for the son, and I also felt bad for Paul Dano’s character. I don’t know if that’s crazy to say but that’s what I feel. What a exceptional film. Just beautifully written, shot, acted, and produced film. This film will go on as a modern masterpiece.
