The Odyssey
The Drama, Project Hail Mary, The Invite, The Odyssey, Digger, The End Of Oak Street, etc.
Compared to the Oscar picks from last year, 2026 may be the year to kickstart the cyclical trend of Hollywood’s pendulum swing back and forth between artistry and corporatism.
A modern masterpiece, the likes of which only anticipated by Lawrence of Arabia, that seems to stand out more vehemently amidst the current landscape of halfheartedly, mass-produced slop, pushed on an audience that has retreated to the warm comfort of the addictive tendencies TikTok and Instagram reels has lived to feed us.
Audiences actually want to see this movie. It’s quite astonishing to see a packed theatre for a new movie in an indie cinema and I can only anticipate more of the same with every shred of hope I can muster.
I undoubtedly enjoyed The Odyssey.
