Collateral

Over the past year, Michael Mann has quickly become one of my favorite directors. Collateral has continued that trend. Mann’s direction and style is perfect for the story, keeping it slick and fast paced throughout. Jamie Foxx and Tom Cruise give absolutely stellar performances, with the characters being reminiscent of De Niro and Pacino’s in Heat. The story itself is streamlined and to the point. I don’t think there’s a wasted minute in this film through the whole running time. Overall, this is a perfect action thriller from a great director.
