The Game
This movie is one of David Fincher’s best, and I think compared to his other work, I never hear anyone talk about it. The story is a tight, twisted thriller that draws you in and keeps you guessing the whole time, and just when you think you know what’s happening, the movie throws a curveball. I know how well it draws you in because I once watched someone not interested in paying attention to the movie get drawn in by the premise and come out having loved the movie.
Michael Douglas was perfect casting for Nicholas Van Orton and the rest of the cast plays their roles brilliantly, keeping us guessing for the whole film. The score is eerie and keeps you on edge whenever it’s playing. The inclusion of White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane, which is also sort of unsettling feeling, during the break-in scene and at the ending of the film, is genius. The cinematography is very well done and several shots in the movie are very much iconic to Fincher’s style.
Overall, I think this film is one of the best thrillers ever made, and I think more people should see it.
