Brilliant.
Such a human film. Every character is so multi-layered and understandably flawed. Baker balances the comedic moments, which are hilarious, with the profound and emotional moments so well with it never feeling forced or jarring. The cinematography is wonderful, so many beautiful shots flooded with vibrant, colourful strobe lights, close-ups are skilfully incorporated to capture the raw emotion of the characters. The ending is outstanding, it’s tragic and poignant nature juxtaposing the upbeat narrative of the first section of the film leaving the audience floored as they watch stunned and in complete silence.
I’m feeling another 5 star.
