Whiplash

Holy fucking shit. This movie was incredible. It starts off with the main character andrew just joining a jazz band with some evil conductor fletcher but then it turns into him battling with the drums and fletcher because he has this deep desire to be great. The movie just builds and builds and builds untill near the end when you think it's all over for andrew then bam the greatest ending you've ever seen when he goes against fletcher. The cinematography aswell with all the colours being deep oranges and yellows with dimmed lights adds so much to the effect of the movie. Along with all the camera angles and slow mo's with the blood and rattling of the drums was fucking insane. The drum playing aswell blessed my ears so much it was so beautiful it's made me appreciate jazz so much more than i used to. And although fletchers a dick, his character was so well beautifully built with him pressuring and pushing his students to their limit to see who has what it takes to become a good jazz player. I fucking loved this movie so much it made me hold my breath right at the end even tho there was such limited script you could still see so beautifully everyone's emotions and thoughts. Omfg i'd kill to watch this for the first time again holy fucking shit i wish i could rate it infinite stars. soz ab the long review but this movie deserves it (i wish i knew how to play the drums)
