CODA
Always so dang good. I'll just point out some new thoughts:
I noticed during the scene where the police come on the boat how it's intercut with Ruby and Miles' date. And it's so different, because you realize this is the normal life Ruby should be able to live this whole time, while also remembering the consequences of her living that life if she chose to.
I don't know many other movies that can effectively display two contrasting themes: the fact that we need to be able to live our own independent lives away from our family, and the fact that we need our family. It hit different this time when Ruby said she's never done anything without her family.
The singing in the truck scene will never not be emotional. And when she signs during Both Sides Now.
Amazing how real these high schoolers look, because they probably were. So much effort was put into that. And just making sure Miles didn't sound as good as Ruby.
