Dune
So much better after seeing part two.
So cool that the hand signal Paul does before fighting Feyd Rautha is taken from Duncan, but "may thy knife chip and shatter" is taken from Jamis.
So cool that Paul retains a relationship with Jamis in part two through visions of an alternate future where Jamis had killed Stilgar.
S/O psychedelic calculus.
The only thing that barely lands is the matador metaphor. Literally had to read the script to figure out that Jamis is the bull. It's a great metaphor though cuz it perfectly aligns with Paul's rise to Messiah basically being all entertainment and propaganda. It also thematically backs up Feyd's gladiator fight, highlighting the incestuous connection between the Attrades and the Harkonnen.
So cool that these movies even exist.
