Years and Years
Went into this only knowing that Emma Thompson is basically gender swapped northern version of Nigel Farage, watching the first few episodes and seeing the events unfold such as the passing of the Queen, various companies going bankrupt, the perversion of the internet entering our lives and other social issues I thought this series was made fairly recently although was very surprised it was released in 2019 which well would've been a giveaway from the lack of COVID, the cast fairly likable all with their own human faults but still deep down just trying to do the right thing, the early episodes I felt was much more grounded and believable especially the risk of nuclear war which from that point onwards things do take quite a turn for the worst ever since, in a way it is still relevant I feel granted some predictions did come close but reflecting on their lives in 2019 to well an alternate present we know now it does ring true, the later episodes do start to slow things down and some elements start to get much more crazy and I feel it loses momentum and feeling that's not to say it gets quite emotional all the way to the end, could've ended on a better note and then looking up details on the series and how does it have a strong first impression and goes out with a whimper does make me think who was behind it all unmasking this mysterious self sabotaging creator, pulling the mask of this proverbial monster it just so happens to be Old Man T Davies, who weirdly had a strong start with his debut with Doctor Who then slowly lost the plot, maybe back then we the people of 2019 were too optimistic to realise what Russell was heading for, nonetheless majority of the episodes are enjoyable and some small details and things even in the last few are great, Russell you could've gotten away with it if it wasn't for that meddling upper middle class family and their semi cyborg teenager
