A romcom for those with eyes to see and who can tell this is actually really a funny movie!  While I’m not a fan of the many parts of this movie that throws away a lot of awareness of power dynamics and safety in the BDSM scene this movie was so so funny. It walks the line of depiction of BDSM and joking about BDSM which I fully didn’t expect and found that fun. It made sure to also show the weirdness of both characters Mr. Grey is not actually this impenetrable wall, a trope of the suave Dom. He is actuality just a guy who is trying hard to keep up his act. Lee control is definitely my favourite part, where she figures him out, in the end looks at us. She not only won but knows her control, cheese in the trap.  Grey refusing to jerk off but to work out made me laugh out loud there are multiple times you can see that he’s SCARED of Lee awareness. Her ability to see him. He’s scared of the pussy, HE SCARED. Which thank you to everyone who decided that choice and jame spader whose face of panic had me torn up laughing.
