The Batman

I'm using this review to ramble about my feelings on DC movies and superhero movies: I really think DC should take its sweet time, if ever, before doing any big crossover. I know this Batman is its own thing and Superman is gonna be in his own lane (pun not intended). But I hope whatever comes next just builds a world instead of working toward one, where huge things happen and I can point at the screen, look at my friend, and be surprised that dudeguy from the 2004 movie dudeguy just showed up. What I want is that feeling of, yeah, these guys exist kind of adjacent to each other, and it’s never too deep. Crossovers are fun the first few times, but once that novelty wears off, it’s better to move past rehashed origin stories that have already been mythologized into pop culture. We already know they share the same world, so it would make more sense if they just appeared when the story actually needed them.
