The Thing
Deadass one of the best uses of practical effects i've ever seen. My review sucked last time so I’ll try to expand on why I love this film. I love horror movies so bad but I’ve only seen movies that rely on jumpscares and suspense and although I’ve liked a lot with that aspect none truly unsettled me. (I will need to watch more… dont worry I have shudder now, im ready.) The Thing is exactly what I was hunting for in a horror movie and the first time I watched it I was just in awe the entire time and even during a rewatch I was. Me when I rewatch a movie on my four favorites and get shocked I tear up at how peak it is. The mystery aspect is so fun and the little details on who assimilated who is so fun to pick up on with a second rewatch. Macready is literally peak character design, his hair🥹 its peak. I also love his jacket so bad. #weneedhisfit, the ending scene is actually perfect omfgggg I love the concept of The Thing just not killing Macready. The COLORS in this movie are genuinely insane. I dog on winter all time cause it sucks ass but it is such a good backdrop for a horror movie ughh I love when its used. The fire against the snow🤤🤤🤤 please bro OH MY GAWDDDD Phew the blue lighting too I actually CANNOOOT. Tears in my eyes dude its actually so fucking gooodddd. Wish me luck on convincing my friends to watch this high cause I think that would fix me
