Avengers: Infinity War
A re-watch before seeing Endgame tomorrow night.
I really loved this film upon release and still do even after the hype has died down from it, the action, the vast amount of characters whom I think each get the screen time they deserve and even the defeat are all extremely entertaining and whilst it's far from the best film ever made it is easily one of the most entertaining I've ever seen.
This re-watch did bring to light several issues for me:
* Hulks none-existence appearance after the very start felt like a way to save a little money on CGI and I really wasn't a fan of the way it was handled.
* There is way too much comedy, some of which is done at inappropriate times. The 'Incredibly Still' moment with Drax being the prime example, even though it's funny it comes right in a moment of heartfelt communication between two characters, ruins it and makes it feel invalid.
* Thano's Children felt underused and too easily beatable, there was some build up prior to release around these new characters and even on my first watch I was highly disappointed in them.
Due to the above notes I've dropped Infinity War below The Winter Soldier in my MCU rankings. I look forward to seeing where Endgame lands.
I am also looking forward to seeing Ant-Man and Hawkeye in Endgame after their absence in Infinity War, especially since I didn't like Ant-Man and the Wasp a huge amount.
