About Time
10.
my friends tend to criticize the girls that i find myself romantically entangled with — either (1) they're not pretty enough (which feeds into my, for a lack of a better word, vain worldview) or (2) they're too boring for me. and so, i'm conflicted. i don't know the right steps for the right romance, and in my endless pondering, i make it harder for myself to learn about romance by example.
given my complexities on romance, the way domhnall gleeson's tim meets rachel mcadam's mary is so beautifully innocent and desirable — a blind date that spans hours of conversation, transcending vanity and embracing authenticity.
of course, there's so much more to About Time than the romantic aspect. living life to your fullest is truly admirable. i'm trying my hardest to be fulfilled with who i am, but maybe i need to try harder to be fulfilled with my life. not just my achievements, my interest, my traits. but my life.
