LIKE
NO SCORE.
while it makes some valid points, but there are just too many fundamental flaws in LIKE that prevent it from being either an enjoyable or productive watch.
the sample size used by this documentary is shamelessly EXAGGERATED, overly ANECDOTAL, and terribly SMALL-SCALE — ALL at once. thus, the (mostly) accurate, but broad statements made by medical professionals FAIL to ALIGN themselves with real-life social media usage.
also, it all seems so inauthentic. it’s a shitty CRASH COURSE on social media for adults who DON’T use social media (or clearly use it in a different way than that of younger generations). it also feels like a poorly-edited, rushed-content documentary project that a high-schooler would make to BLOAT their college common app. and that GOD AWFUL slam poetry-esque acapella rap near the end was brutal to watch.
oh, and did i mention how this went on for FIFTEEN MINUTES PAST when school meeting was supposed to end? LIKE was doomed to be a poor watching experience for me.
