Lowkey devastating but also very “wow I did not sign up to cry today.” Beautiful Boy is painfully real about addiction, with performances that feel way too honest. Steve Carell will emotionally ruin you and Timothée Chalamet plays his role to absolute perfection like, best crackhead performance ever. Truly a public service announcement, because thanks to him I never want to do drugs… even though I never wanted to in the first place. Honestly feels like the extremely sad alternate-universe sequel to The Office.
