A Clockwork Orange

96 This movie was absolutely revolting. Yet it’s one of the best movies i’ve ever seen. Stanley Kubrick you’ve done it again my boy. This movie was beautiful, and disgusting. The performance from Malcom McDowell is out of this world. How he can make you almost care about this- horrible heathenous rapist. This movie is just so unsettling. Every scene they find some way to make you feel gross.  The score by Wendy Carlos is amazing, it just adds to the level of horror you feel throughout this movie. I loved the themes of this movie especially, is it morally okay to make someone a better person by taking away their freedom, and once their freedom is gone, are they even a good person, or just a product of what youve done to them. Adding more to this because I cant stop thinking about it. This movie has just grabbed my by the throat. Stanley Kubrick is a genius. The writing of this movie is just so incredibly amazing. Alex getting exactly what should come to his sick being, but for me, I know this won’t be everyones opinion but you do almost feel a twinge of anything for him. The beatings, the sobbing, the suicide attempt. Then you go back to hating him more. It’s just such a good movie and I can’t stop thinking about it. I already put it into my top 4.
