Honestly one of my favorite horror movies on first watch. The plot that intertwines psychedelic dream sequences with gritty, gory fights is right up my alley. The fact that Nick Cage is killing off literal princes of Hell with a box cutter is literally exactly what I want in a horror movie. The trippy cinematography throughout was confusing in all the right ways, allowing the action sequences to cut through all the more effectively. The protagonist killing off all the cult members was intense and satisfying, leaving the viewer pondering and profoundly disturbed by the end of the film.
