The Revenant

A period piece that immediately transports you to the 1800s frontier, this film delivers complex characters with layered motivations that results in excellent storytelling. While not uplifting by any means, it really makes you ponder this era as a whole and how humanity seemed to be absent in many ways at this time. The visuals of this film were additionally stunning and brought me back to when I was working in Yellowstone.
