Avatar

I’ve now seen Avatar in IMAX 3D twice during this re-release and I’m convinced it’s just authentically the best movie for this environment ever. This movie is just so immersive and mesmerizing; it’s so interesting how it’s wildly more successful internationally than in the US. I understand why, based on the amount of Chinese blockbusters I’ve exposed myself to and the endless Spider-Man: NWH theater reaction videos that still surface our feed occasionally since it’s release. I think overseas audiences live for the theater experience way more than in the US, but Avatar is the rare exception that honestly deserves all of that hype. It’s a fluke, sure, there really hasn’t been a movie marketed for its 3D experience since this. Truly a wonder, and I’ll happily contribute to what I believe is now a Mickey Mouse / James Cameron joint checking account if it means we’re getting more of this.
