“Have I lost you to another man?” “You're losing me to a life of my own.” Wow. That’s all I can say after finishing this movie. By far the best Elvis-adjacent movie (there’s way too many of them..). The way this movie was shot was the perfect mix of intimate and uncomfortable. Every detail and line felt like it came from love—a cruel love. Elvis’ writing was so perfect that it overshadows any flaws this movie may have. The way he addressed Priscilla made my stomach churn everytime. I wanted to click off the movie but I couldn’t. I couldn’t even look away. I’ve seen discourse over this movie because of Priscilla Presley as a person. That is stupid. She can be a bad person and still be a victim. There is no perfect victim. Just take the movie for what it is, not who she is. It isn’t about her questionable choices after Elvis. It’s about her time with Elvis.
