Unforgiven
I love the depiction of Bill, Ned and The Schofield Kid's humanity, they all set off confendently in search of a bounty but when actually faced with their target they have a hard time going through with it. Ned who can't even bring himself to take another man's life is brilliant, as it would have been an easy task eleven years earlier but now he's filled with so much regret, to the point he can't bring himself to take another man's life despite him needing the money.
Bill (Clint) also has a difficult time with killing, but he doesnt let that get in the way he does what he needs to then regrets it straight away afterwards. This is definitely the most human depiction of cow boys that I have seen. Even after taking the shot Bill let's one of the targets partners give him some water because of how bad he feels for the man.
The Schofield Kid is very annoying but his development is great, he goes from this cocky "Killer" to a scared shitless kid that just took his first life and would do anything to take it back.
Ned is accidentally killed during an interigation desipte him not actually going through with the killing. Bill turned into an animal. Bill who had a hard time killing again and had been sober for years now, turns into this mean drinking killing machine that want's nothing but revenge. Throughout that sequence it gives a glimpise of what Bill was like before he met his late wife.
The whole sequence with English Bob and Little Bill Daggett was great it was a real introduction to Little Bill Daggett's character that Bill (Clint) would later run into. I loved the writer being there through everything, he was trying to get down and remember as many details as he could without being killed so that he could later go away and right a book about the events.
It was weird to hear Clint Eastwood talk so much as I've only seen him play The Man With No Name who doesnt talk to much. I do prefer this older and more talkative role that Clint took on. Morgan Freeman was a suprsie as well I didn't know he was in this but as per usual Morgan gave a great performance.
This is undoubtedly my favourite Clint Eastwood film out of the ones I've seen. Unforgiven was nominated for nine Oscars and it won four of them, it is also widley considered one of if not the best western of all time and rightfully so. It's a perfect western. It's also worth noting that two out of the four Oscars that were won went to Clint Eastwood as he not only starred in the film he also directed it.
