Almost Famous
Opening the film up with an Alvin in the Chipmunks song is hilarious. Penny Lane, how I aspire to be you, “Never take it seriously, if you never take it seriously you never get hurt. If you never get hurt you always have fun, and if you ever get lonely you just go to the record store and visit your friends”. This film brought me so much joy, the cinematography, the scenes, the soundtrack, I loved it all. “What do you love about music?” "To begin with, everything." - This line genuinely sums me up as a person, because as someone who loves and appreciates music, this movie is absolutely perfect. The vibes, the actors, the lines, the scenes, all amazing. The movie vibes are just so beautiful, fun, and whimsical, just like the 70s were.
The filmmaking and the aesthetic I just absolutely loved it! Everything is just so magical, and I love it, idc what anyone says. This film, also shows a great message because we see William grow up in a very protective household, and he finds his escape through music. We see him learning how to let go, and love, and also finding his people and identity. I loved every second of the film, from the vibes, to the film being centred on the musicians of the 70s.
Omg. And don’t get me started on the soundtrack, it’s so good. I’d love to live inside this movie. The bus scene of the band singing Tiny Dancer by Elton John is my favourite scene in the movie, it’s so sweet and wholesome. It just shows unity and that music in the film isn’t just background, it’s how the characters bond and understand each other. Oh to be in the 70s
