Arrival

One of the few films where you’re left empty (in a good way) and just contemplating life and the universe as we know it. It’s a deep slow burn but the pacing is perfect. The build up to the first mission into the craft is honestly some of the best creation of anxiety and it’s execution is incredible. The craft design itself is intimidating and accompanied by that score is flawless. The communication scenes were mesmerizing to watch and really put into perspective the beauty of language and understanding, despite not speaking the same language. Amy Adams is incredible in this. For me, Denis’ best. 10/10
