Chernobyl
Harrowing.
Just one word I wanna use for this. Although I think that even masterful words won't be able to state the fact that this is such a great piece of work. This was an uncomfortable watch with no emotional character arcs, but the character arcs revolving around this incident. This is the thing which made this series so powerful. The stories, the pacing, the cinematography and the Writing were almost perfect. I never use perfect as a word to describe anything, but here, I can say that the acting was perfect. This might not be my favourite series because I know for a fact that I won't be able to watch this again. The background music as well, it was chills. I still remember as a child when I first got to know about the incident when I was making a project on Disasters and something. And seeing the death toll, I never understood why this was the biggest nuclear disaster till date. But I understood when I watched this. The politics of the Soviet Union and how it influenced this incident with more risks and mishappenings and all the things they did, just to save their image in front of the world. It still breaks my heart to see the warriors, Legasov and Boris meet their fate in real life like that and how THAT made people to make changes in their nuclear systems. Seeing the images and the shots of the houses, the toys, and the uniforms in the basement, the shots and clips and facts shown in the end of the series makes you wonder and gives you chills. I just have one negative for this series and it was that it was in English, it may have been even more harrowing if it was in Russian, but it doesn't matter. The story needed to be told, and it was told in the right way. Thats all that matters.
