<p>this is such a me movie!! one of my fav coen brothers films and probably my fav performances by brad pitt. its so funny and bizarre and somehow tragic?? First 20 minutes are kind of slow but stick with it it gets soooo good I love it&nbsp;</p>

<p>OK this ones a little divisive. I know a lot of ppl find it to be very incelcore but I didn't really take it that way?? it felt like a really in depth look at how loneliness can affect you and the different places people end up going to for love. I think jonze directs it perfectly, every shot with phoenix centered alone among the appealing colours of this near future was kind of heartbreaking. I feel like there aren't enough sci fi movies that aren't warnings with undertones of horror or dystopia. this is effective because of its softness. I understood it better than I have a lot of more standard romances and it really made me feel something, so hopefully you feel similarly!!</p>

<p>tw for pregnancy and a lot of pregnancy related body horror so this might be a difficult watch but it has a weirdness and a grossness to it that I think you'll love!! also it has such an interesting perspective on gender and femininity vs masculinity + a female director!!&nbsp;</p>

this is so bizarre and unsettling and hilarious I really want to watch it with you!! I'd be so interested in your reaction. the two leads also direct and its such an inventive story. I love how they commit to the look of the film so extremely and it just gets more and more insane as it goes&nbsp;

<p>another julia ducournau because I'm convinced she's one of the best horror directors currently working. not as strong as titane for me but very strong nonetheless. it has some of my favourite gore in any movies and the concepts ... I mean I love cannibalism as a trope anyway so it was made for me</p>

reminds me of angels egg just in that its another surreal obscure animated movie (never seen angels egg so you tell me how similar they are story wise lol) it might be a little slower but I like the visuals and concept a lot and it might be good to watch from an animating perspective

<p>a classic!! its on every 1000 movies you should watch before you die list for a reason. it is THE bottle movie. everything from the pacing to the acting the dialogue the cinematography its all on point! perfect movie baby!!</p>

one of the greatest love stories of all time??? I think so. it weaves the plot and the romance together so well and every twist was so engaging. I love the two leads with all my heart and the relationship is so believable you absolutely want the best for them. also its a period piece!! so hopefully you'll enjoy it lol

<p>probably my favourite documentary!! its so honest to the point of being uncomfortable but the people it depicts are some of the most fascinating people and I think you'd enjoy the twistedness of it</p>

<p>id recommend any of yorgos lanthimos but this in particular seemed like something you'd enjoy. its so bizarre and twisted and it gets under your skin but also its somehow comedic?? Great performances all round i especially love the main girl</p>

<p>OK sorry if a lot of these are very filmbro but its remarkable that this guy did 12 angry men AND THEN THIS LIKE??? pacino is so good it balances thriller and comedy so well and it feels so ahead of its time? plus the fact that its depicting a true story like what more could you want&nbsp;</p>

this is sooo entertaining and p short as well which is never a bad thing!! I really love the playful style of it and it balances the darkness of the concept rlly well. id be interested to hear how u think it contrasts with requiem for a dream

<p>YES 3 hours butttt you barely feel it i swear. this is structured more like a play than a film so the length feels like it fits imo. its very bleak but I love the style all the performances and the ideas presented are really interesting even if they're majorly depressing&nbsp;</p>

<p>this is another classic and one with a female lead so I really think you'll find it interesting. it's probably not my favourite thriller but there's some really effective techniques used and I think you'll find it entertaining</p>

<p>this is one movie that really feels like a mia movie™️ to me. ofc being directed by hideaki anno he approaches mental illness in such an interesting way. I rlly enjoyed how the protagonist's inner world was shown and how as the movie goes on you begin to better understand her. one of the best movies I've watched about loneliness</p>

<p>OK im in two minds about whether you'll like this because its pretty long and there's not a whole lot of dialogue BUT the visuals are astounding. with my love for David lynch I kind of had to put this on here just to see what you think</p>

&nbsp;gangster mafia adjacent movie. one of the most anxiety inducing movies I've ever watched -- might be a little long but HOLY SHIT that ending&nbsp;

<p>another animated one i think you'll enjoy!! this movie made me really sad for a while. the way it looks at life and death and our purpose is somehow both depressing and uplifting. ik you like depressing movies so hopefully you'll find smth to enjoy here</p>

<p>another scorsese yass. part of me is adding this because I think you'll find at least one of the gangsters hot (my bet is de niro but well see) but also this is like. the quintessential mafia movie after. the godfather. the structure of it the music everything is so stylish and so engaging it really is just such a fun time-- if you liked wolf of wall street you'll definitely like this</p>

YEAH its long but I only felt it in that I was rlly scared the whole time. I'd argue its best watched at night in the dark OR perhaps in the cinema if were able to.
