Had a blast - I think this is the strongest film of the franchise. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is well-explored through the varied relationships he has with the supporting characters (the best of which was his relationship with Punisher), but the film didn’t have the dissonance you typically get when Marvel films flip from tragedy to comedy. The film was also very successful at balancing the ‘friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man’ with the Spider-Man who’s part of the wider Marvel world. The film doesn’t work for me when it had to set up MCU plots & characters (and I really disliked Florence Pugh’s character being shoehorned in). There were also elements of Sadie Sink’s arc that I didn’t enjoy, but I won’t spoil.
