WandaVision
I think some of the emotional impact and effectiveness of WandaVision has dissipated over time, but it's still undeniably one of the most unique and creative projects that Marvel has done.
Just like all of the Marvel shows, WandaVision gets less interesting with every passing episode and has a rushed conclusion. The pacing felt steadier this time around, but I think that's just because I knew how things were going to wrap up. Regardless, it didn't affect my opinion that much.
I don't really care for the S.W.O.R.D. side of the story. The characters are quippy and often annoying. Most of them feel out of place narratively and like they were forced into the script for the sake of cameos and broader MCU connections, mainly talking about Jimmy, Darcy, and Monica. The Wanda and Vision part of the story, I really enjoyed.
Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are the heart of this show. Whenever they're on screen, no matter the episode, I'm having a great time. Wanda has become a sympathetic character and, at this point in the whole of the MCU, one of my favorites. She's unique and complex, and I like the way they chose to explore her past and feelings surrounding the losses of those closest to her in this series. Vision gets a better "conclusion" than he got in Endgame, and he also helps Wanda get some closure despite where things end up in Multiverse of Madness. He's funny and charming and drops some of the best lines in the MCU.
The different periods of American TV that are on display as each episode progresses are really fun to watch. Again, it's another reason why this is one of the more creative shows in a visual sense, but it also ties in to Wanda as a character and how she's working through her emotions. It's an interesting plot device that I've not seen before, and it added a surreal and mysterious element to the show, especially when it was first released.
It's a great show. One of the best that Marvel has to offer.
