There is a lot to appreciate to this movie, especially the cinematography with some beautiful shots especially the first appearance of the murder with the projection of his shadow or the tribunal of the criminals at the end. The narration is also pretty successful even if it falls a little short towards the middle and I watching this film in german really adds a special vibe to it. The big highlight of the movie is for me very clearly the ending, that raises many questions on the legal system : should the murderer really be held guilty ? However, and I don’t know if this is related to the release date, the lack of music is quite noticeable with some scenes being completely quiet for no real reasons and as mentioned before the pace does fall of towards the middle.  Still an overall great movie !
