Maybe it’s the fact that I’m literally on vacation at Miami Beach right now. Maybe it’s the fact that I was at an art house theater a half mile from that beach to watch this. Maybe it’s the fact that I grew up in Florida and people don’t understand the trauma I went through that makes me not want to live here anymore. But this rewatch cemented that this film will always be with me. Perfect film, regardless of the minuscule flaws that I could pick at for Wells directorial debut. This simultaneously makes me want to call my dad and never call him again.
