Materialists
SO FREAKING HAPPY THIS WAS SO GOOD
Writer-Director Celine Song has done it yet again. If Past Lives was her intimate look at moving on and finding good in the new, Materialists is her examination of remembering and returning to the important things in life that we forget.
I love the cast. Dakota Johnson devoured this role. She should really look into being a counselor or therapist because her aura is naturally so comforting. Also hello dramatic actor Chris Evans! Glad he got to show off his range with this project. And Pedro is always a delightful “unicorn.”
There weren’t as many landscape or more artsy shots here, but the story didn’t need to rely on them as much here since it was a different kind of story. But there were some cool moments.
I love Celine. I loved this movie. And I am so happy that my expectations were met!!
