Primate

“Jingle Jangle eee eee eee eee”Despite having some gnarly and disgusting brutal yet epic kills and practical effects, I found this to just be a fine release. A simple story of a monkey who has lost his mind, going from a loving and fun chimp to a murderous threat. I wish we could have spent more time with normal Ben as it was only one or two scenes to really get us to resonate and feel bad for him, as at the end of the day, he isn’t himself and it’s not actually his fault at all. The same can be said for our main human roles, they didn’t get me to really care for the characters other than Lucy really. I will say, there is some style and sauce to this films direction and set pieces, they do a good job with the lighting and cinematography enough to make it work with the films plot and actually make Ben a threat even more. Despite the story being simple, it is affective though, as if you want to just switch your brain off and watch a slasher type film, you will probably enjoy this one!  Final Review: 2.5/5 or 5/102026 Ranked
