Thief
Thief is a one of a kind by Micheal Mann. One of the sauciest films I’ve ever seen. The coolest performance from James Caan, genuinely the aura this man portrays on screen is through the roof with a stellar performance. The world that Micheal Mann builds is only something that he can do, the Chicago nights are such a vibe and he captures it spectacularly. The story to this film is gripping, thrilling and emotional in parts. A man who deals with life after being in Jail, a woman who can’t have children who wants a family and both come together to confide in each other, while Frank is stealing to give them the life, and dealing with the consequences. Some of the shots in this film actually blew me away, the cinematography is insanely good, Micheal Mann has that sauce.
The music by Tangerine dream is one of the best soundtracks and score, it really adds to the films visuals and story, adding a really intense atmosphere. Please watch this film! I need the criterion!
