Bottoms
Bottoms is an insane, absurd, raunchy film and we need more queer representation EXACTLY like this. It has the spirit of teen comedies from the 90s/2000s, the absurdity and vibrance of ‘But I’m a Cheerleader’ and the cringy-ness of Pen15, resulting in one of the best comedies of the decade. Emma Seligman and Rachel Sennott are a dynamic force to be reckoned with. And joining the duo is the fantastic Ayo Edebiri, who is hilarious and charismatic. Rachel once again has pitch perfect comedic timing and I loved her performance. Emma Seligman, once again, proves herself as one of the best directors of this decade.
Although, I’m very curious to see how this shakes out at the awards season. A best original screenplay nom is all but guaranteed, and I would love to see Emma nominated in the directing category (but its VERY crowded this year).
