Arrival
This one of those movies people say "every shot in this movie could be a wallpaper". But honestly from the Denis movies I've seen, that isn't a new statement. This guy really knows how to make a damn sci fi movie, from the visuals to the story telling and the whole 9 yards this guy has done it perfect again. By far my favourite sci fi director if not my favourite director right now, and i've only seen 5 of his movies. The story telling in this one is really well done, I love how it all comes together so well at the end. The way he uses these aliens in the story, first he makes them feel menacing and puts you in the perspective of everyone on earth at the time but then slowly turns them into something so beautiful. The acting in this especially from Amy Adam's is so good. It definitely helps her case with me since the only thing I've seen her in is the office, but still she was amazing. I love how he puts the tragic loss of her daughter at the start and gave us the idea that this has already happened to her and that the snippets of her daughter is just her experience usual trauma. But no it's actually what her future is, and the tie in with the alien language and her figuring it out just makes it so satisfying to watch. That fucking score oh my god that will be in my head for weeks. It was so menacing at times but at other times so god damn beautiful. I already want to just start watching it again but I better not or I'll become addicted and start seeing my future. I LOVED THIS ONE SO MUCH
