Evil evil movie. Brilliant meta commentary on violence as entertainment— anything shocking happens offscreen and you only get to stew in the suffocating aftermath, and the one time this isn't true, it's immediately undone by a bullshit plot twist. No catharsis for you! You think you're here to watch them play some funny games, and instead you get that torturous 15 minute take of the parents sitting alone with their child's fresh corpse, a moment that embedded itself deeper into my memory the longer it lingered. It’s silly and cruel and I loved it and am never watching it again
