Sing Sing
I can’t remember the last time I got as emotional as I did during a movie at the theatres than this one. I’ve waited a very long time to see this and my theatre finally granted me my wish. This movie combines a level of tenderness with such authentic performances. The choice to cast these people as themselves worked so well and paid off tremendously. This is my first exposure to Colman Domingo and he blew me away completely. The shot that made the movie for me is of the seemingly endless amounts of barbed wire and the plastic bag stuck on it, blowing in the wind. Symbolizes exactly what this film critiques and focuses on. God bless cinema.
