Terrifier 3
I saw it and loved it again today. I will say that I have noticed I am one of the few fans who isn't really at a Terrifier film specifically for the gore. It's there and I usually think it's pretty sweet, but David Howard Thorton as Art is at his best usually just before the kills in my opinion. When he is just acting funny or intimidating or something leading up to the kill I am ALWAYS on the edge of my seat. The scene in the bar is one of my favorites, along with when he is sitting in the restaraunt in the first one just staring at the girls. That is where I think the now iconic villain of these movies really shines. But with such good buildup to the kills, it is nice that the kills themselves are so over the top and wild cause those make the leadup worth it. Sienna Shaw, the hero of this story is the other side of why I love these films so much (and due to her absence that is probably why I'm not crazy about the first one.) Lauren LaVera is outstanding, and I can pretty confidently say, Sienna is my favorite final girl. There are a few moments that go too far to me due to the extremity of the blood and gore. I like cool kills but I am not really into seeing people get tortured. But other than that, I love the look of this movie, I love the characters, I am really liking the lore, and the Christmas setting is amazing. I think that even if you take away the extreme gore this franchise is known for, this movie is still great. The characters, vibes, and performances would still make an incredible horror movie. Terrifier 4 has now become my most anticipated movie.
