Watership Down
"All the world will be your enemy... But first they must catch you... Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed".
Okay, this might be the second time i’ve rewatched a movie but not like 20 times like what i’ve done for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Plus the first time I watched this movie, I was a very small boy; who for a lack of a better word, didn’t understand any type of tv show or movie or whatever that didn’t have happy themes throughout the media. Which is probably why I didn’t really get it during those times. However, I watched it start to finish and I can comprehensively say that this still is my favorite movie, for now that is. There’s a possibility that Texas Chainsaw Massacre could he my favorite movie for the 19th time by rewatching it again but let’s not focus on that film and focus on this one. May I first say this this was surprisingly less gory than I imagined it would be, probably from the sloptuber vids who try to over exaggerate literally everything that they post, but that doesn’t take away from the experience since i’m not a fucking weirdo who thinks gore is fun to watch. I love the narrative which is probably my second favorite aside from TTCM, but that doesn’t completely mean it still isn’t better. What mainly makes this better is how it kind of tells the story of survival, these friend groups of rabbits who try to escape this dictatorship of more “supreme” rabbits I guess you could say. Many of them die, but the ones who do not die are able to tell this amazing story which is the movie we are watching right now. And thats what I love about the film, and going back to that quote from the beginning it really really makes sense after you’re done finishing the movie. which really adds to my likening of it. Plus the soundtrack is really good too, its basic dramatic music that goes on throughout the film but it still works considering that this is essentially a war movie in a way people are trying to escape their leaders. All in all, Watership Down is a masterpiece of a movie that if needed should be rewatched, especially if this scared you as a kid.
