Zootopia 2
Nick and Judy are in desperate need for a constant stream of world saving cases to compensate for the immense collateral damage and felonies committed while trying to apprehend white collar criminals. Thankfully, the world’s least subtle conspiracy lands on their lap and they go on an adventure involving multiple long dramatic pauses in the middle of chases. Seriously quit fucking yapping they’re right behind you!
I do love the worldbuilding in the first movie and that’s what made me like it so much. By that I mean mostly the visuals of how the world functions. This one has those too but it’s mostly just the buddy cop duo running from place to place while the world’s most incompetent police force try to catch them. And that is, to bury the lead, my main gripe with this movie. It just doesn’t feel as all encompassing as the first one. The first one is obviously a silly cartoon but it’s got its moments where you have to lock in. This one only had it once with the twist villain, which, given the film’s general predicability, I actually didn’t predict, but that be a byproduct of me being brain dead. This is just too silly and cartoony to be anything to take seriously and there isn’t enough fluff to really mask that. I suppose the story in a vacuum is decent if you take the bare essentials, but it hurries so quickly to its conclusion that it hardly feels deserved. Also let’s be real if this was a real life conspiracy our dear pals Judy and Nick would come down with a spontaneous urge of suicide via gunshot wound to the back of the head.
To conclude this I would also like to emphasise the whole racial angle of this because that was a big emphasis on the original movie. Well uhh what the fuck is up with the lynxes being inherently greedy and duplicitous? Is zootopia 2 redpilling children on the lynxish question?
